IF SHE SPOKE

A place for your story to be heard..

WHY I’M COLLECTING STORIES..

If She Spoke exists because women carry so much — quietly, constantly, and often without recognition.

Through my own experiences, and through the women around me, I’ve become deeply aware of just how much women endure: as mothers, daughters, partners, caregivers, creatives, and individuals trying to hold themselves together while the world keeps asking for more. On the other side of my own struggles, I found myself in complete awe of women — their resilience, their courage, and their capacity to rebuild their lives again and again.

This project was created to give women a place where their stories can exist.

Sometimes, healing isn’t about fixing or explaining — it’s about being seen. It’s about knowing that someone has witnessed your pain, your survival, and the way you’ve transformed what you’ve lived through. When stories are shared, they remind us that we are not alone, that our experiences matter, and that strength can take many forms.

If She Spoke is a space for women’s stories to be heard, honoured, and held with care. Whether your story is shared publicly or kept private, it matters. Your voice matters. And your story deserves to exist.

What Kind of Stories Can Be Shared?

There is no “right” kind of story.

Your story might be about:

• Surviving something difficult

• Leaving, rebuilding, or starting again

• Motherhood, identity, loss, or change

• Quiet strength rather than dramatic moments

• A turning point — or something still unfolding

Your story does not need to be perfectly written, inspirational, or resolved. It only needs to be yours.

How Your Story May Be Used

Stories submitted to If She Spoke may be used in different ways, depending on what you consent to. This can include:

• Being featured anonymously or with a name (your choice)

• Inclusion in the If She Spoke exhibition

• Use in related artworks, publications, or promotional material

• Sharing excerpts on social media or the website

You will be able to clearly select what you are comfortable with before submitting. Nothing will be shared beyond the permissions you give.

Your Safety & Consent Matter

You are always in control of what you share.

• Share only what feels safe for you

• You can remain anonymous if you wish

• You can choose not to have your story shared publicly

• You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at admin@rmhart.com

This project is built on respect, care, and trust.

What Happens After You Submit

Once you submit your story:

• It will be read with care and respect

• You may be contacted if your story is selected for exhibition or further use

• Not all stories will be publicly shared, but all are valued and acknowledged

Submitting a story does not guarantee inclusion in the exhibition, but every story contributes to the heart of this project.

SUBMIT YOUR STORY

As part of the If She Spoke exhibition, I am currently collecting women’s stories of struggle, resilience, and strength to share within the exhibition space. Some contributors may also be selected to have their story interpreted through portraiture or artwork, which will be displayed alongside their words. Your participation is entirely voluntary, and you will always retain control over how your story is shared, credited, or anonymised.
